Winger Lionel Ainsworth came off the bench to inspire Shrewsbury to a third win in a row as they beat Macclesfield 4-1.

After two victories away from home had lifted Graham Turner's men into third spot they had to come from behind to overcome the plucky Silkmen.

The visitors went ahead in the 19th minute Lewis Chalmers touched a short free-kick to Hamza Bencherif who lashed home from 25 yards.

Bt the Shrews were level in only three minutes when Nicky Wroe split the visitors' defence for 19-year-old Jon Taylor to score with a low shot.

Taylor limped out of the action just before the break to be replaced by Ainsworth and in the 66th minute he pounced on a Mark Wright knockdown to fire into the corner - and collect a yellow card for whipping off his shirt in celebration.

Four minutes later Ainsworth powered in his second after the persistence of James Collins set up the chance and another sub, Matt Harrold, wrapped up the victory in the 90th minute by firing in the fourth.
