Bury came back from the dead at Gigg Lane to claim a point with two goals in the final eight minutes in their 2-2 draw with Macclesfield.
The Silkmen's on-loan right back Dan Gray was having a dream debut. After 29 minutes his long throw saw an unmarked Richard Butcher head home.
He then seemed to have sealed the points for the Silkmen after 69 minutes when he was also left unmarked by a hapless Shakers defence.
But with just eight minutes left Ryan Lowe set up a grandstand finish when he drove powerfully into the top corner of Jose Veiga's net, and six minutes later substitute Lenell John-Lewis was on hand to finish off some concerted pressure from the Shakers.
The home side had had the better of a dire first half-hour, with leading scorer Ryan Lowe going close on a number of occasions and Nicky Ajose forcing a fine save from Veiga.
The Silkmen's opening goal had seen a change of momentum and it was Macclesfield who dominated, with Tyrone Barnett in particular having a number of chances to finish the Shakers off, before Lowe set up the absorbing finale.
