McLeod double inspires Bees win

Izale McLeod scored twice from the penalty spot inside five minutes to extend lowly Barnet's unbeaten league run to three games as they recorded a 2-1 victory over 10-man Macclesfield.

In a game of few chances, referee Dean Whitestone's actions proved decisive as he awarded the Bees two penalties before sending off the visitors' Ross Draper after the break.

In a poor first half, Barnet could only muster a long-range Danny Senda effort and a Jack Saville header before the game was turned on its head just before the break.

On 40 minutes, Carl Tremarco hauled down Mark Marshall in the box, and four minutes later the diminutive Sam Deering was upended by Town keeper Jose Veiga - McLeod dispatching both to take his season's tally to 12.

Macclesfield reduced the deficit when a break down the left on 61 minutes from Macclesfield allowed Draper to square for Matt Hamshaw to power the ball home from 10 yards.

Two minutes later though, Draper saw red for a lunge at Michael Hector and the Bees held on for a valuable three points.
