Silkmen Bounce Back

Last updated : 18 October 2004 By MAD Reporter
The first away win for the Silkmen since the season's opening day. Macc took the lead after a Paul Harsley cross ball was turned into his own net by Terry Skiverton half way through the first half. The Glovers came back strongly and shortly into the second half got back into the game by Darren Way. Silk nerves were jangling as the Moss Rose side have lost the last two games after leading, but this time the Silkmen showed bouncebackability and it was the club's leading goalscorer Jon Parkin converting after good work from Sheron and Tipton. Parkin now totals 7 goals in the League and that puts him in joint third place in League Two's list of top goalscorers.

New defender Simon Weaver had a slow start but ended strongly as the Macc defence held out for the win. The Silkmen go 6th with this win.
