Brian Horton - 1000 Games Coming Up

Last updated : 07 October 2004 By Floodlight

Brian Horton has had a career in football management of over twenty years, from a player-manager at Hull City in 1984 to the present day at the Moss Rose. Averaging fifty games a season, this puts him around the 1000 mark.

To the end of the 2003-2004 season Brian had a total of 985 first team competitive games as a manager - 847 games in the Leagues, 45 games in the F.A. Cup, 61 games in the League Cup, 13 games in the Full Members Cup (Simod Cup/Zenith Data Systems Cup), 17 games in Associated Members Cup (Freight Rover Trophy/Auto Windscreen Shield/LDV Vans Trophy) and 2 games in the Anglo-Italian Cup.

The fifteenth competitive first team game of the present season will be away to Torquay United on Saturday the 16th of October and this MAD writer believes it will be Brian Horton's 1000th game in charge of a first team competitive match. This MAD writer appreciates that statistics can go wrong and realises that he is sticking his neck out to say this.
