Weaver Joins Silkmen On Loan

Simon Weaver from Lincoln City has joined the Silkmen on a month's loan with a possibility of the move being made permanent.

Well thought of by the Imp's fans, Simon Weaver earlier this month put in a transfer request to manager Keith Alexander as he was not happy at not getting any first team football since the end of August. 26 year old Weaver arrived at Lincoln in May 2002 on a free transfer from Nuneaton. He started his career as a trainee at Sheffield Wednesday and made appearances on loan at Doncaster Rovers. He was a part of the very good Lincoln City defence that got the team to consecutive play-offs. He made 101 first team appearances for the Imps and scored four goals.

Silkmen manager Brian Horton is no doubt looking to stop the Macc defence leaking goals from set pieces and route one balls. Weaver joins his ex-teammate Mark Bailey at the Moss Rose. If he impresses the manager in his month then the deal could be made permanent. Let's hope that the Silkmen defence can now get Weaving!
