The Algerian has returned home to France for a short break as he continues his rehabilitation but is unlikely to play again this season.
Alexander could hand new recruit Craig Lindfield a debut after the former Liverpool striker was an unused substitute in Wednesday's disappointing 2-0 home defeat against Northampton.
Fellow frontmen Matthew Tipton, Ricky Sappleton and John Rooney are also pushing for starting berths.
