Player Performances - Cambridge United Home

Last updated : 14 November 2004 By Dave Morris

Alan Fettis - couldn't be faulted with the goal, commanded his area well, made some good saves when needed - 7

Mark Bailey - got forward well with his usually battling performance, but was leaving a hole at the right back position that U's didn't exploit - 6

Graham Potter - plays more orthodox left back but is dangerous when getting forward, a few good crosses in - 7

Matt Carragher - quiet game except when called upon to get across to cover the right hand side, which he did well - 7

Tony Barras - good headers all night, but gave away free-kick that U's nearly scored from, (lucky not to get a card) and should have won the game at the end but his free header was straight at keeper - 6

Paul Harsley - battled away in midfield and his delivery of free-kicks and corners was as usual excellent - 8

Jon Parkin - battled away up front despite plenty of attention from U's defence. His header down created goal - 8

Matt Tipton - saint or sinner? Did well to steal the equalising goal, also did well down the right late on, but oh dear! those two misses late on - feet (and head) don't fail me now - 7

Tommy Widdrington - quiet game but battled away in midfield and was getting back well to help out defence - 6

Danny Whitaker - surprised he was taken off as he appeared to be working the hardest in midfield, looks well back in form - 8

Mike Sheron - super-sub, settling into the difficult role of throw on man. Did well, got into the action and delivered a super cross ball that should have won game - 7

Simon Weaver - first game at home, showed his experience when up against Easter, but was getting out of position too much, especially as Bailey likes to get forward as well. With a flexible back 3 this is not a major problem - 7

Brian Horton - usual vocal performance, started 3-5-2 for the home game then put on Sheron and switched to 3-4-3 looking for the win - 6
